About The Artist

My passion for painting is inspired by the beauty of living things in their natural setting, i.e. living things, "doing what they do".  I find a profound honesty and purity in this and my hope is that this feeling transcends through me and into my paintbrush as I do my best to interpret it.  I started painting consistently 9 years ago, and am completely self-taught.  I've won several awards as an amateur at juried art shows and was exceptionally happy to win the People's Choice Award in 2016 at the Franklin Street Gallery and Gift Shop for their 5th Annual Homegrown Arts Exhibition.  I've had numerous commissions and share my love of painting by teaching classes out of my home and in the community.  Creating art has established itself as a necessity and a crucial avenue of joy in my life.
